ABOUT ME

I am registered with the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and Level 3 Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I offer regular and fortnightly sessions to adults of all ages. I have supported and guided clients since September 2020. When working with my clients, I do so with the idea of creating a safe and non-judgmental environment for them. I believe that the relationship between client and counsellor is key. I am able to provide the foundations of empathy, unconditional positive regard and congruence. By building an alliance and that trust, I am able to guide and support my clients to grow at their own pace and encourage them to make their own decisions so that they can flourish into a better version of themselves. I have worked with a wide range of ages between the age of 14 years and 80 years. I have helped people with issues such as anxiety, panic attacks, trauma, bereavement, suicidal ideation, relationship issues, divorce, self confidence/self esteem and negative thinking patterns.

Qualifications:

Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Level 3 certificate in counselling skills Level 2 certificate in counselling skills Legal Practice Certificate - Post grad Law (Hons) degree I have also completed some training on trauma and about to undergo a couples therapy course.

The way I work:

I work by tailoring my approach against each client differently, as I view each client as unique being. When I receive an enquiry, I will always contact the client within 24 hours and arrange for an introductory phone call. Once a client agrees to work with me, I will send them a contract and assessment form to complete and return. Once this is done, we can then move forward to booking a session and this will be followed by an invoice. Sessions can be paid for in block bookings or weekly. Payment is requested within 48 hours of the booking (booking is usually made a few hours after the last session/ when invoice is issued). I charge £75 for face to face sessions or £55 for online sessions. I will always send you a reminder the day before your session and send a Google Meet link a couple of days before (if online). I will usually suggest 6 consecutive sessions to establish a good foundation with client and I will fix a review at session 6. My reviews are to take stock of how the client is progressing and to talk about how to move forward with our sessions. This is to check the progress of the client and the therapeutic relationship. If a client decides to go beyond session 6, there will then be a further review at sessions 12. After a certain review, clients also have the option of moving from weekly sessions to fortnightly sessions and even monthly, once they feel ready enough to do so. By providing my clients with the right support, I hope that my clients can leave therapy feeling more confident about themselves and the decisions they make for themselves.
