I am a chartered Clinical Psychologist registered with The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and The British Psychological Society (BPS). I have been working in the field of mental health, within the NHS, for over a decade. I draw upon this rich and varied experience to help people, of all ages, address a range of difficulties and struggles in their life. I aspire to help people identify and achieve their goals, and move towards living a more fulfilled life.
I am a warm, sensitive and passionate psychologist, and I value working collaboratively and respectfully with people. I place importance on holding in mind the influence and impact of challenging circumstances, both historical and current, on the nature of the difficulties people experience. I believe this is an important position from which to understand emotional distress whilst highlighting personal strength which can, at times, be forgotten.
I have varied experience of working therapeutically with a range of mental health difficulties, including low mood and depression, low self-esteem, distressing and overwhelming feelings of anxiety, panic attacks, difficulties in social situations, interpersonal difficulties, phobias, post-traumatic stress, obsessive-compulsive behaviours, stress management, anger management, gender identity issues, psychosis and schizophrenia-spectrum disorders, and bipolar disorder. Many of the people with whom I meet identify a hope for things to be different in their lives and wish to begin exploring this further in a safe and respectful space.

I have over ten years of experience working in the field of mental health, in varied roles, within the NHS. I am a chartered Clinical Psychologist (British Psychological Society) and I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (regulatory body for Clinical Psychologists).
In my current NHS role, I work in a service that specialises in offering support and a range of interventions to people who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis. Prior to this, I worked in a community rehabilitation setting providing holistic assessments and therapeutic interventions to people with a range of long-standing mental health difficulties. I also offer consultation and bespoke training to a variety of mental health and social care professionals.
THE WAY I WORK
As a Clinical Psychologist, I am skilled in offering a range of specialist therapeutic interventions, guided by the current evidence base. The approaches that I draw from include cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), compassion focussed therapy, mindfulness approaches, systemic therapy, narrative therapy and psychodynamic therapy. By offering a range of different talking therapies, I value being able to tailor the approach I use depending on the problem that has led you to consider therapy.
An initial session with me would involve starting an assessment process where we would aim to come to a joint understanding of what the difficulties are that have led you to consider therapy, alongside discussion of what change may look like, ultimately establishing meaningful goals for our sessions together. Most of the people I see receive short-term or medium-term therapy, typically meeting once per week. During the sessions, it might be appropriate to follow a structured focus. However, there may also be times when it might be more valuable for a more exploratory focus to understand potentially unhelpful patterns that might be getting in the way of living a more fulfilled life.
