ABOUT ME

I am a chartered Clinical Psychologist registered with The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and The British Psychological Society (BPS). I have been working in the field of mental health, within the NHS, for over a decade. I draw upon this rich and varied experience to help people, of all ages, address a range of difficulties and struggles in their life. I aspire to help people identify and achieve their goals, and move towards living a more fulfilled life. I am a warm, sensitive and passionate psychologist, and I value working collaboratively and respectfully with people. I place importance on holding in mind the influence and impact of challenging circumstances, both historical and current, on the nature of the difficulties people experience. I believe this is an important position from which to understand emotional distress whilst highlighting personal strength which can, at times, be forgotten. I have varied experience of working therapeutically with a range of mental health difficulties, including low mood and depression, low self-esteem, distressing and overwhelming feelings of anxiety, panic attacks, difficulties in social situations, interpersonal difficulties, phobias, post-traumatic stress, obsessive-compulsive behaviours, stress management, anger management, gender identity issues, psychosis and schizophrenia-spectrum disorders, and bipolar disorder. Many of the people with whom I meet identify a hope for things to be different in their lives and wish to begin exploring this further in a safe and respectful space. Please make contact with me to discuss the issues you are experiencing and the ways in which I would hope to help.
