I am an integrative counsellor and have worked within the helping professions for most of my working life. I enjoy meeting new people and find it extremely rewarding when I see others hopes and aspirations become a reality.
I grew up in a family of five in London being the middle child between a brother and sister and seem to have developed a need to be patient, diplomatic and a good listener when there have been arguments and disputes between my oldest and youngest siblings. Later on on I used these skills with other family members and friends and this has led to my chosen career path in counselling. I have worked in the mental health field for several years in the NHS and my work has involved working with people with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, sexuality, child related issues and personal development. I have a special interest in working with clients who are seeking to know and understand themselves better in the hope of leading a more fulfilling life
BA (hons) Psycho-social studies. Diploma in Integrative counselling. Certificate in psycho dynamic theory (Carl Jung).
THE WAY I WORK
I feel strongly that it is the therapeutic relationship that is at the heart of change, so my aim from the outset will be to provide a safe and private space in which to work with you towards towards this change. I consider myself to be sensitive to the subtle changes I see in my clients, and from my own experience I see these changes begin to occur quite soon after the start of therapy. Being an integrative counsellor I consider past as well as present events to be of equal importance so together we will look at the here and now and events of historical significance.
