THE WAY I WORK

I see therapy as a co-operative venture between therapist and client and I endeavour to provide a warm, collaborative space for you to explore the issues that are important to you. I will seek to see you and understand you as a whole person, connected in mind, body and heart. In our sessions together I will support you to - Accept and understand yourself as a whole unique person Develop the power and freedom to make the right choices for you. The integrative model I work with focuses on the importance of relationships and is based on the belief that as human beings we can grow and develop in relation to others. I combine and use several different models of counselling, such as attachment theory, psychodynamic and person centred approaches. This allows me to meet the needs of each individual and to work with the focus that best fits the person. My approach is empathetic, collaborative and relational. I will work on building a trusting and supportive relationship with you which will allow you to feel confident in opening up and sharing your distress, hopes and wishes. We will work together at a pace that suits you. If it's useful we can use creative approaches like drawing or writing. I will begin by offering you an initial phone call where we can discuss your needs and how we could work together. When we first meet in person we can build on this initial conversation and continue to talk through your concerns and how I can support you. As we continue to meet regularly (weekly for 50min per session), we will build on our relationship and co-create a space where you can explore, express, change and grow. Please complete the online form so we can arrange a mutually convenient time for us to have an initial phone conversation. I look forward to supporting you.
